An artificial turf pitch consists of several layers: a stable, water-permeable subbase, often an elastic layer, and the synthetic turf, which, depending on the system, is filled with quartz sand and an elastic infill.
Advantages Over Natural Grass
- Significantly more hours of use per year
- Playable in almost any weather
- No mowing, fertilizing, or watering
Standards and Quality
In Germany, DIN 18035-7 regulates construction and testing; internationally, there is the FIFA Quality program. You can read about the size of a football field in our guide Football Field Size.
Maintenance
Regular brushing, redistribution of the infill, and periodic deep cleaning maintain the playing characteristics. We provide cleaning of artificial turf pitches nationwide.
