TOP GREEN Artificial Grass ProfessionalArtificial Grass Glossary

Disinfection

Technical term from the TOP GREEN Artificial Grass Glossary – clearly explained based on over 25 years of experience.

Briefly explained

Disinfecting artificial turf reduces germs and odors – for example, on dog areas, playgrounds, or sports facilities. Using suitable, material-friendly products is essential.

Artificial turf is not sterile: on areas used by animals, playgrounds, or heavily used sports facilities, organic residue and germs can build up. Disinfection reduces the germ load and helps prevent odors.

What matters

  • Clean thoroughly first – disinfectants have little effect on soiled surfaces.
  • Only use products that are suitable for synthetic surfaces and won’t damage the material.
  • For dog areas, enzymatic cleaners are effective at targeting urine odors.
  • Follow the manufacturer’s instructions regarding dosage and contact time.

Disinfection can be carried out as part of deep cleaning – just get in touch with us: Artificial Turf Cleaning.
