Crushed sand is produced by crushing natural stone. Unlike round natural sand, it has angular grains that interlock when compacted. Typical grain sizes are 0/2 or 0/5 mm.
Use with Artificial Turf
On top of the compacted gravel base layer comes a leveling layer of crushed sand or chippings, about 2–3 cm thick. It is precisely screeded with a straightedge and then compacted with a plate compactor. This creates the level surface on which the artificial turf will later be laid.
