TOP GREEN Artificial Grass ProfessionalArtificial Grass Glossary

Sod

Technical term from the TOP GREEN Artificial Grass Glossary – clearly explained based on over 25 years of experience.

Briefly explained

Sod is pre-grown natural lawn that is delivered and installed in rolls. It is immediately green but requires a lot of water and care in the first few weeks.

Sod (pre-grown lawn) is cultivated on specialized areas, harvested, and delivered in rolls. This creates a ready-to-use natural lawn area within one day.

What matters

  • install as soon as possible on delivery day, as the rolls dry out quickly
  • water daily and thoroughly during the first few weeks
  • thereafter, normal lawn care: mow, fertilize, water
