Beach Volleyball Court

Technical term from the TOP GREEN Artificial Grass Glossary – clearly explained based on over 25 years of experience.

Briefly explained

A beach volleyball court is a playing field made of deep, fine sand. To keep it safe, the sand must be regularly loosened and cleared of foreign objects.

A beach volleyball court measures 16 × 8 m according to international rules, surrounded by a free zone. According to the regulations, the sand should be at least 40 cm deep, fine, and free of stones, shells, and other objects that could cause injuries.

Sand Maintenance

  • Regularly remove foreign objects such as glass, stones, and bottle caps
  • Loosen the sand to keep it soft and springy
  • Remove leaves and organic debris

Our sand surface cleaning mechanically cleans sand up to a depth of 40 cm – precisely the layer thickness crucial for beach volleyball. See also Sand Surface Cleaning.
