Polyethylene (PE) is the most commonly used plastic for the fibres of garden and football artificial turf. It is flexible, pleasantly soft, and very easy to process.
Advantages of PE
- soft, skin-friendly feel
- good UV resistance with appropriate stabilisation
- low risk of injury from abrasions
- easily recyclable
Other plastics used in artificial turf include polypropylene and polyamide.
