TOP GREEN Artificial Grass ProfessionalArtificial Grass Glossary

Non-Infill Artificial Grass

Technical term from the TOP GREEN Artificial Grass Glossary – clearly explained based on over 25 years of experience.

Briefly explained

Non-infill artificial grass does not require infill material such as sand or granules. It is low-maintenance and avoids microplastics from loose infill.

With non-infill artificial grass, the blades support each other—aided by thatch and special fiber shapes. An infill of sand or granules is not necessary.

Benefits

  • No infill material that blows away or washes out
  • No microplastics from loose granules
  • Easy cleaning, even on balconies and terraces
  • Pleasantly clean for children and pets

Limitations

Very long blades flatten more quickly without sand. For this reason, non-infill systems for sports fields are specially engineered. In the garden, many modern products require little or no sand—we would be happy to show you which ones in our show gardens.
