On balconies, terraces and concrete surfaces, the water-permeable gravel sub-base is missing. This is where a drainage mat is used: a plastic mat with studs or a grid structure that creates a cavity between the subfloor and the artificial grass.
Benefits
- Rainwater drains away under the artificial grass to the outlet
- the artificial grass dries faster, moss and odours are prevented
- minor unevenness and joints show through less
- in some cases, additional cushioning
A prerequisite is a sufficient slope of the subfloor. More on water drainage under drainage.
