TOP GREEN Artificial Grass ProfessionalArtificial Grass Glossary

UV Resistance

Technical term from the TOP GREEN Artificial Grass Glossary – clearly explained based on over 25 years of experience.

Briefly explained

UV resistance describes how well artificial turf withstands sun exposure without fading or becoming brittle.

Sunlight contains UV radiation, which can damage plastics over time. The UV resistance indicates how well artificial turf retains its color and elasticity under this stress.

How is artificial turf made UV-resistant?

During manufacturing, UV stabilizers and colorfast pigments are added to the plastic. Quality products are tested in accelerated weathering tests.

How to recognize good quality

  • long warranty on colorfastness
  • manufacturer specifications for UV tests
  • PE fibers with stabilization

Our Royal Grass® artificial turf comes with a 15-year warranty – it is UV-resistant and colorfast.
