A kickabout pitch is a place for casual football – usually publicly accessible, without club operations and without fixed pitch dimensions. In the past, kickabout pitches were often made of cinder, gravel, or heavily worn natural grass.
Why artificial turf?
- playable year-round, even after rain
- no mud and no bare patches in front of the goals
- less maintenance than natural grass
What municipalities should pay attention to
Kickabout pitches are heavily used and exposed to wind and leaves. A robust fibre, a well-draining sub-base, and regular cleaning extend the service life. For infilled surfaces, the issue of microplastics must be taken into account. We support maintenance with our artificial turf cleaning.
