During cutting to size, the artificial grass rolls are adapted to the shape of the area – to lawn edges, flower beds, paths, or drains. A clean cut is crucial for invisible seams and a neat edge finish.
How to Achieve a Perfect Cut
- Unroll artificial grass and allow it to acclimatize
- Align all rolls in the same laying direction
- Cut from the back with a sharp utility knife and a straightedge
- Remove edge strips at seams and align edges flush
- Change blades frequently to prevent fraying of blades
Account for offcuts
Since artificial grass is supplied in fixed roll widths, offcuts will occur depending on the shape of the area. Plan the rolls in advance to minimize the number of seams. The guide Securing Artificial Grass explains how the rolls are then joined.
