TOP GREEN Artificial Grass ProfessionalArtificial Grass Glossary

Seam Tape

Technical term from the TOP GREEN Artificial Grass Glossary – clearly explained based on over 25 years of experience.

Briefly explained

Seam tape connects two strips of artificial grass on the underside. Combined with artificial grass adhesive, it creates a virtually invisible, permanent seam.

Artificial grass is usually supplied in rolls of 2 or 4 meters in width. For larger areas, the strips must be joined together. This is where seam tape is used: a robust tape that is placed under the joint edge and coated with special artificial grass adhesive.

How to create an invisible seam

  • Lay out the strips with the pile facing the same direction
  • Trim the edges cleanly so that no gaps remain
  • Lay out the seam tape, apply adhesive, and press the strips down
  • Brush up the blades after the adhesive has cured

Clean seams are one of the greatest challenges during installation. During professional installation, our teams ensure that the transitions are barely visible.
