They improve shock absorption, ball behaviour, and grip when turning and stopping. <\/p>\n<h2>Types<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>SBR granules:<\/strong> made from recycled end-of-life tyres, usually black and inexpensive<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/topgreen.de\/en\/lexikon\/epdm-granules\/\">EPDM granules<\/a>:<\/strong> virgin material, coloured and weather-resistant<\/li>\n<li><strong>coated granules:<\/strong> SBR with a coloured coating<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Microplastics regulation<\/h2>\n<p>Loose plastic and rubber granules fall under the EU restriction on <a href=\"https:\/\/topgreen.de\/en\/lexikon\/microplastics\/\">microplastics<\/a>. After a transitional period, they may no longer be sold as infill material from October 2031. Alternatives include <a href=\"https:\/\/topgreen.de\/en\/lexikon\/cork-granules\/\">cork granules<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/topgreen.de\/lexikon\/quarzsand\/\">quartz sand<\/a>, or unfilled systems.
