The <strong>tuft bind<\/strong>\u2014referred to in German as tear-out strength or tuft withdrawal force\u2014indicates in Newtons how firmly these clusters are anchored in the backing fabric. Measurement is carried out according to EN ISO 4919.  <\/p>\n<h2>Factors it depends on<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Quality and quantity of the <a href=\"https:\/\/topgreen.de\/en\/lexikon\/backing-coating\/\">back coating<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Structure of the <a href=\"https:\/\/topgreen.de\/en\/lexikon\/backing-backing-fabric\/\">backing<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Aging due to UV light and weathering<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Why it is important<\/h2>\n<p>Low tuft bind results in blades coming loose\u2014especially during sports, dogs playing, or brushing. Minimum values for sports surfaces are defined in the testing specifications.
